- Introduction to advanced polymeric materials and processing technologies - Dendrimers - Fluoropolymers - Specialty polymers, polymer blends and composites - Electrically and magnetically active polymer systems - Polymer applications with increased flame retardant requirements - Thermoplastic elastomers - Polymer liquid crystals - Polymeric skafolds for medical applications. - Optical fibres. - Nanotechnology, carbon structures. - Introduction to advanced metallic and oxide materials and processing technologies. - Applications of polymers in healthcare, pharmacology, laboratory technology (sterilisation, bioactivity, controlled release, membranes, separators). - Applications of polymers in automotive and aerospace (high temperature, high stress materials, non-flammability).
