Course content
1) Introduction to the subject - history and specialization of toxicology. Basic concepts. 2) Toxicokinetics and toxicodynamics. 3) Organ toxicity. 4) Genotoxicity (carcinogens, mutagens, teratogens). 5) Experimental toxicology (in vitro tests, in vivo animal tests, biological exposure tests); alternative methods for in silico toxicity testing of chemicals. 6) Toxicologically relevant inorganic compounds in the environment and food. 7) Radioactive substances. 8) Toxicologically significant organic compounds in the environment and food. 9) Narcotic and psychotropic substances. Natural poisons. 10) Food toxicology - mycotoxins, phycotoxins, bacterial toxins. 11) Food toxicology - food supplements, food additives, toxic substances produced during food processing. 12) Clinical toxicology (elimination of xenobiotics from the organism, antidotes). 13) Analytical toxicology (identification of nox and their metabolites). 14) Legislation and work with poisons and other harmful substances.
