Course content
|
1. Introductory lesson - introduction to the content and structure of the course, literary sources, requirements for completion of the course. 2. Aesthetics: branches of aesthetics (philosophical, psychological, sociological, intercultural, comparative, etc.), media aesthetics - the relationship between art and mass media. 3. Art - the basic form of human knowledge of the world, testimony to man's aesthetic relationship to the world. 4. Art - a specific form of human communicative action, artwork as a communication medium. 5. Semiotics and visual representation. 6. Ways of seeing 1: hidden ideologies in visual images. 7. Ways of seeing 2: The work of art in the age of mechanical reproduction. 8. Classical art vs. audiovisual media. 9. Culture - from high culture to popular culture, high and low (decadent) art. 10. Consumer culture and pop art. 11. The power of public art 12. Artwork as commodity and media product. 13. Art and advertising - creativity in advertising.
