Course content
1. Introductory lesson - thematic plan, literature, structure of the course and its conclusion in continuity with requirements towards students. 2. Communication process and communication: topic and content, reception of communication - linguistic code as communication differentiation and stratification of the Czech national language. 3. Stylistics as a linguistic discipline - subject and aim, concept and conceptualisation of stylistics. 4. The influence of style-forming factors on the style of a text - objective (extrapersonal) and subjective (individual) style-forming factors; communicative factors. 5. Stylistic aspects of text construction I. - stylistics and text syntax; stylistic procedures and their modifications, stylistic formations. 6. Stylistic aspects of text construction II - functional styles: theory of functional styles - classification, origins vs. contemporary. 7. Primary functional styles: common (colloquial) x administrative. 8. Primary functional styles: composition of journalistic texts, their genres/forms. 9. Primary functional styles: professional: composition of professional texts, differentiation of professional language styles, the differentiation of stylistic expressions. 10. Primary functional styles: artistic with the possibility of application in continuity with the journalistic style (tropes and figures). 11. Functional styles secondary: essayistic, church communication style. 12. Functional style secondary: advertising style - linguistic-stylistic aspect, style type of advertising text. 13. Methodological problems of stylistics - application of stylistic knowledge.
