Course content
1. Model of the communication process. 2. Characteristics of the recipient of mass communication in the ongoing development of communication technologies. 3. Characteristic features of social and mass communication, relationship to interpersonal communication. 4. Intrapersonal, interpersonal, and group communication, opinion leaders. 5. Stages in the development of human communication and the development of media. 6. Media audience, its past, present, and future. 7. Communication and culture. 8. New patterns in the flow of information - social networks. 9. Functions of media communication and prerequisites for the effective use of its means, belief in the power of media. 10. Effects of the media (agenda-setting, knowledge gaps, spiral of silence, etc.). 11. Media genres and formats, social control and consciousness formation, media addiction. 12. Psychological effects of mass communication, psychology of mass behavior. 13. Transnational media flow as a process with both positive and negative impacts. Media markets, cultural identity and globalization.
