Course content

1. Introduction to the study of economics. 2. Historical perspective on economics. 3. Subject of economic theory, market and market mechanism, factors of production, forms of competition. 4. Money, history and development of money, functions of money and its properties. 5. Financial system, financial institutions, financial documents, stock exchange, capital market. 6. International money market, foreign exchange markets and exchange rates, factors affecting exchange rates, international monetary system. 7. Economic function of the state, objectives, instruments, and types of economic policy. 8. Measuring economic performance, gross domestic product, inflation, unemployment, balance of payments. 9. Monetary policy, instruments and objectives of monetary policy. 10. Fiscal policy, instruments and objectives of fiscal policy. 11. Income and wealth, income and its distribution. 12. Inflation and unemployment, solving social problems. 13. Economic growth and the economic cycle.
