Course content
Course content: 1. Introduction - the development of existing and the emergence of new educational institutions for designers since the 1990s 2. Important personalities of Czech design from the 1990s to the present 3.-4. The oldest generation of designers formerly active in the country and abroad and their importance for the development of design pedagogy and practice (Eva Jiřičná, Jan Kaplický, Bořek Šípek, Jiří Pelcl, František Burian) 5.-6. Middle and young generation of designers and design studios since the 1990s (Olgoj Chorchoj, Rony Plesl, Jan Čapek and others) 7. From national enterprises to privatization and the creation of new companies - domestic manufacturers cooperating with designers and characteristics of their production 8.-9. The most important producers in the field of Czech design and companies cooperating with designers in various fields from furniture design to glass design (TON, Tescoma, mmcité/egoé, Lasvit, Preciosa and others) 10.-11. Presentation of design currently in the domestic environment (Designblok, Biennial Brno (b. graphic design), Zlin Design Week) 12.-13. Challenges for contemporary Czech design in the field of ecology and sustainability
