Course content
|
Using examples from the visual culture of the first and second half of the 20th century, the course introduces key themes of modernism, its extreme positions in art (avant-garde) and visual communication (propaganda), and topics (industrialization, the modern city, social consciousness, the body and the gaze, the subject, the nation, the institutionalization of art, consumption).
