Course content
|
Students will be introduced to an overview of visual culture from the early Middle Ages to the late 19th century. They will be introduced to surviving cultural monuments in the context of their contemporary visual communication and ritual role. Students will also be introduced to the historiography and different ways of studying and interpreting visual culture, as well as important figures in the discipline.
