Course content

After completing the IB course: - the student will be able to name the relationship of visual culture and art to their own field, - will have an idea of visual perception and the relationship of sensory perception to human cognition and conception through physical experience (basics of cognitive science); - learn to distinguish between idea, image, medium and dispositive (anthropology and image theory) and - will be acquainted with the basics of semiotics and reading of visual representations (character, labeling, framing, intention, context, meaning, metaphor).
