Course content
|
1. The three-sector division of culture, cultural sector: theatres, museums, libraries, galleries; cultural industries: film and video, books, video games; creative industries: architecture, advertising, design. 2. The value of culture, theories of public culture and cultural organization. 3. Creative class - Richard Florida; creativity as a driving force for economic growth, immaterial consumption, assessing quality of place. 4. Image of creative centres, culture creates image, culture creates jobs. 5. Citizen participation in policy making, institutional innovation and citizenship. 6. Development of local cultural policy (Get to know the city, Get to know the citizens, City analysis, Goals for the city, City action plan, Programmes, projects and activities, Evaluation). 7. Creative cluster, case study Letná creative cluster, Zlín creative cluster. 8. Mapping of cultural and creative industries, establishment of the Creative Zlín Commission and next steps.
