Course content
1. What is aesthetics and what is art theory? 2. Art before art. 3. Art of antiquity and aesthetic thinking. 4. Medieval art, Renaissance and Baroque. 5. The Enlightenment. 6. 19th century aesthetics. 7. Aesthetics of ugliness. 8. Modern trends of aesthetic thought. 9. Semiotics. 10. Structural aesthetics. 11. Neo-Darwinian aesthetics. 12. Aesthetics and kitsch. 13. Practical applications of aesthetics.
