Course content
1. Ideology of classicism (style) and the symbolic/public object. 2. Challenges of construction. 3. Architecture of industry, commerce and business aristocracy (exhibition palace, department store, arcade, garden cities, canals, bridges, railways). 4. Urbanism, utopia, metropolis and the discussion of style. 5. The Arts and Crafts movement.
