Covered topics: Textile division - classic and non-woven, Basics of textile and clothing production, Basic characteristics of preparation and properties of technical textiles in various areas of their application, Distribution of technical textiles, current state and perspectives of development of technical textiles, Main raw materials and methods of fiber preparation, Problems of biodegradable fibers, their acquisition and application (eg in medical textiles).

- Ability to distinguish and describe the basic names of textile raw materials, spinning semi-finished and finished goods, types of yarns & basic properties of yarn - fineness, strength, tensile strength, - Analyse and differentiate knitted fabrics and woven fabrics in terms of their construction, structure & manufacturing technologies used in their production, and identify them on the basis of macroscopic, microscopic & burning tests, - Name the importance of finishing operations in the process of creating a fabric with regard to its final purpose - Critically evaluate the selection of textile materials for use in the garment industry or the design creative process with respect to the appropriate selection or combination of enhancement and finishing operations for fabrics
