Course content
|
1) Presentation of basic tendencies in the field of art criticism; Issues of subjectivity, intersubjectivity and objective evaluation in the interpretation of works of art. 2) General overview of the state of art criticism in the Czech Republic and in Europe. The influence of professional books, catalogs, art periodicals and social networks on the tendencies of contemporary art, the work of authors and the work of galleries. 3) Examples of events in the world of art and their reflection by art criticism. Self-evaluation of the relationship between art criticism and works of art in current exhibitions in contrast to their PR and authors' reviews. Více o zdrojovém textu

| The course presupposes an interest in contemporary art, basic knowledge and orientation in the Czech artistic context, active visiting museums and galleries and reading art periodicals. Understand and define the issue of evaluation of artworks. Explain and master concepts from the field of art evaluation and interpretation. The student will understand meaning of professional texts and reviews The student is able to characterize the fundamental events and tendencies of contemporary art and their reflection through art criticism Student will prepare structure of critical rewiev from gallery excursion |
