Course content
1. Introduction and orientation 2. Presentation of course objectives and outcomes 3. Tour de Zlín: excursion - where to obtain materials and components 4. Tour de U16: introduction to manufacturing options, technology, and machinery 5. Basics of working with tools (knife, scissors, gluing, joining) 6. Assignment: order/procure materials (Sneakerkit, Oh my shoes, alternatives) 7. Concept phase 8. Choice of topic (individual/group) 9. Research, mood board, sources of inspiration 10. Discussion about the story and identity of the project 11. Assignment: finalize mood board and prepare inspirational materials 12. Ideation and prototyping 13. Sketching and drawing shoe designs 14. Paper/textile mockups, testing variants 15. Design iteration, design thinking methodology Meeting with an industry expert (designer/shoemaker) Finalization of designs for production Creation & final development 16. Working with materials: cutting, sewing, assembly Production of footwear according to designs Completion of a pair of shoes (goal: finished product at the end of the lesson) Short group reflection and presentation of results Branding and visual identity 17. Creation of a logo and common identity (or individual brands + unifying element) Design and production of promotional materials (stickers, tags, postcards, 3D objects) Product photography, preparation of visuals in graphic design programs Discussion of the form of the event/exhibition (script, form of installation) Event/exhibition 18. Completion of promotional materials Installation, arrangement, and presentation of products Final event/exhibition: public presentation of results Documentation, feedback from participants and experts
