Course content
1. Definition of glass, characteristic properties of amorphous substances 2. Glass composition single and multi-component glass 3. Viscosity, surface tension, thermal conductivity 4. History of rock production 5. Czech, English, Italian crystal 6. Fuels used in glassmaking 7. Refractory materials 8. Pan furnaces 9. Bath furnaces 10. Glass raw materials 11. Staining of glass 12. Chemical and physical discolouration of glass 13. Reducing and oxidizing agents Students orientate themselves in melting units and construction materials specifications for glass production. They know the chemical-physical processes affecting clarity, color and turbidity
