Course content
Seminars: - Philosophy of multiculturalism. Multiculturalism as a historical and real phenomenon. Multicultural nursing, basic conceptual apparatus. Cultural shock and its phases. Diagnosis of cultural shock according to NANDA Int., Re - entry shock - 1 hour - Application of culturally specific models used in transcultural nursing. Model of transcultural nursing Madeleine Leininger. Model Joyce Newman Giger and Ruth Elaine Davidhizar. Model of Joseph Campinhy Bacote - 1 hour - Cultural competences and models of cultural competence according to Larry D. Purnell. Ethnocentrism and its consequences in nursing. Nutrition and dining rituals - 1 hour - Islamic culture and society. Relationship to health, illness, death. Nutrition and dining rituals. Communication taboo - 1 hour - Vietnamese culture in the Czech Republic. Specifics of culture. Relationship to health, illness, death. Nutrition and dining rituals - 1 hour - Migration from Russia and Ukraine to the Czech Republic. Specifics of cultures - 1 hour - Philosophy of Confucianism, Chinese etiquette - 1 hour - Reflection of religion in transcultural nursing. History of the origin of minority ethnic groups in the Czech Republic - 1 hour
