Course content
- Concept of modern pedagogy, pedagogy as a science and applied field. The relationship between pedagogy and nursing / midwifery, possibilities of interaction - 1 hour - Socialization, enculturation, education and self-education, training and learning. Specifics of education of children, youth, adults and seniors - 2 hour - Options and objectives of education and training in various areas of work of midwives. Education and prevention. Education for a healthy lifestyle - 2 hour - Factors of clients with effective learning, learning styles and multiple types of intelligence. Influence of the climate of social groups (e.g. client - midwife - doctor) on client´s learning - 2 hour - Pedagogical principles of educational influence of midwives to different groups of recipients (young clients - mothers, their children and adult family members, geriatric clients who are ill, clients with cancer) - 2 hour - Initiate contact with a client, pedagogical aspects of verbal and nonverbal communication of midwife with client - 2 hour - Motivation of clients and social support to them - 2 hour - Selection and practical application of educational and training methods in communicating with clients. Specificity of activation methods and instructing at work with clients - 2 hour - Midwife in client?s family. Current problems of family education - 1 hour - Midwife as a mentor. Preparation and realization of practical training in clinical practice - 2 hour - Midwife as a lecturer. Preparation and realization of educational events (lectures, seminars, meetings, etc.) - 2 hour - Self-reflection, self-discovery and self-improvement (self-education) of midwives - 2 hour
