Course content
Lecture Principles and foundations of health promotion, evaluation of health promotion in the Czech Republic. Health promotion programs and strategies in communities, key WHO documents. Application of health promotion models in practice. The emergence and development of public health, public health, public health protection entities. Systemic tools for public health protection and promotion and prevention of health risks. Nutrition in relation to the health status of the population, possibilities for prevention in the field of nutrition. Prevention of mass diseases. The future of public health in the Czech Republic - goals, social efforts, expertise. Seminar Overview of the historical development of the field in the Czech Republic and worldwide. World Health Organization (WHO) - characteristics, overview of its basic goals. Quality of life. Pillars of social policy. The most common diseases and possibilities for their prevention. Theories of health and disease, definition of the concepts of health and disease, determinants of health. Health care system - basic concepts, organizational structure, and financing of health care facilities and services. Social security - general health insurance, social insurance (sickness insurance, pension insurance), state social support, social assistance (social care). Exercise Preventive medicine and related fields, health determinants, living and working conditions, lifestyle. Daily routine, shift work, personal hygiene, stress. Nutrition in disease prevention. Addictive substances - issues related to smoking, alcohol, drugs. Environment, indoor environment of buildings, hospital waste. Occupational hygiene, occupational diseases, high-risk workplaces, epidemiologically significant activities. Hygienic and epidemiological requirements for the operation of healthcare facilities. Social and biological factors influencing the incidence of infectious diseases. Vaccination programs.
