Course content
Lectures - Basic and special examination methods in surgery - Conditions requiring surgical intervention. Categories of surgical procedures. Urgency of surgical interventions and risks Postoperative complications - Nutritional and internal environment disorders in surgery - Infections in surgery - selected types of surgical infections. Wound science - injuries (traumatology plan), - Shock, treatment and prevention, first aid in surgery - Head, spine, and limb surgery. Traumatology - Neck and chest surgery. Traumatology Seminar Nursing process for patients with traumatological diseases of the head, spine, and limbs - Nursing process for clients with surgical diseases of the neck, chest, and thyroid gland Exercises - Asepsis, antisepsis, surgical infections. Hand hygiene, handling of laundry, waste disposal, disinfection and sterilization in surgery - Basic surgical procedures (surgical incisions, sutures, drainage systems). - Aseptic dressing of surgical wounds. Drain shortening, drain removal, suture/clamp removal, wound swabbing, assistance with aseptic procedures - Types, healing, and treatment of wounds in surgery. - Surgery. Types of surgery, indications and contraindications, hygiene and anti-epidemic equirements and regime measures to ensure the operation of the operating room (patient and staff in the operating room). Preoperative and postoperative care, postoperative complications - Anesthesia and analgesia. Anesthesiological procedures, preoperative questionnaire and examination. Pain assessment. Postoperative therapy - Surgical rehabilitation, surgical dietetics
