Course content
Introduction - 7 lectures. - The definition of law, basic law theory (origins and functions of law, sources of law, legal standards, legal relationships) - Validity, effectivity, the legal system in the Czech Republic - Basics of Civil Law (legal acts, requisites, substantive laws, laws of obligations). - Basics of Labor Law, Family Law, Criminal Law. - History and sources of Czech Medical Law - The term, subject, and characteristics of Czech Medical Law - Basic principles of Medical Law - Health services and health care (types and forms of health care). - Health care providers, health care workers and institutions - Conditions of providing health services and health care - Patient's rights during health services providing - Right of consent, right as a legal act. Forms of consent with providing health services and health care. - Rights and obligations of the health service providers. Right and obligations of health care workers. - Health care contract - Hospitalization and health service providing without the patient's consent and against their will. - Providing health care to underage patients (with a limited capacity). - The duties of patients and other people during providing health services and health care. - The duty of confidentiality of the medical staff. - Medical documentation. - National health information system. - Dead human body. Person's death and its legal consequences - procedure after a person's death. Autopsy. - Responsibility for non-material damage during providing health services and health care. - Complaints against providing health services (procedure). Specific health services - 4 lectures. - Law no. 373/2011 Sb., law no. 227/2006 Sb., law no. 66/1986 Sb., decree no. 75/1986 Sb., law no. 40/2009 Sb. - Assisted reproduction. - Sterilization. - Castration. - Sex change. - Psychosurgical procedures. - Genetic examination. - Experiments on living humans. - Assessment care and occupational health services. - Protective treatment. - Abortion. Transplantation law - 2 lectures. - Law no. 285/2002 Sb. - Conditions of transplantation from a living donor. - Conditions of transplantation from a dead donor. Drugs and medicine - 1 lecture. - Law no. 378/2007 Sb. Public health - 1 lecture. - Law no. 258/2000 Sb. Financing of providing health care and health services - 1 lecture. - Law no. 48/1997 Sb.
