Course content
Lectures - Sociology and sociological thinking (concept and subject of sociology, division of sociology, origin and development of sociology and its founders, sociological paradigms) - 2 hours - Scientific cognition and interpretation of social reality (scientific method and scientific research, sociological research, qualitative and quantitative sociological research, sociological methods and techniques, use of methodological approaches sociology in nursing) - 2 hours - Social integration (community and society, social group, organization) - 1 hour - Social order (social structure, social stratification, social mobility, social development) - 1 hour - Social action (socialization, individual, group and collective action) - 1 hour - Culture (definition of the term culture, traditional and modern culture) - 1 hour - Development of sociological approaches to health, illness and nursing - 1 hour - Subject of sociology of health and illness (health and illness in sociological context) - 1 hour - Sociology for nursing (nurse role, physician role, patient role) - 1 hour - Selected sociological problems in nursing and medicine (medicinalization of life in contemporary society, infertility as a subject of sociological research, medical and nursing professions in sociological perspective, illness as a stigma in contemporary society, chronic illnesses from sociological point of view, mental illnesses sociological point of view, dying and death from sociological point of view) - 3 hours
