Course content
Lectures - Origin and development of evidence-based practice, basic division and types of research - 1 hour - Evidence Based Healthcare - 1 hour - Introduction to Evidence-based Practice - evidence-based practice in nursing - 1 hour - Basic concepts related to EBP and basic principles of EBP - 1 hour - The process and phases of EBP in nursing (critical attitude to practice, formulation of clinical question, systematic search for best available evidence, critical assessment of evidence (validity, clinical significance, applicability, application of evidence (results) into clinical practice) - 1 hour - Pyramid of Evidence, PICO - Search Strategy Worksheet, Critical Evidence Assessment - 1 hr. - Barriers to implementation of evidence-based nursing in clinical practice - 1 hour Seminars - Assessment of the situation and formulation of the clinical question, construction of the clinical question according to the PICO (T) format - 1 hour - Search for the best evidence from available online databases - 1 hour - Individual group work and consultation with teacher and specialists / consultants - 2 hours - Evaluation of the quality of found evidence, search for studies and their critical evaluation, selection of the best evidence - 1 hour - Recommendations for practice and possibilities of implementation of evidence into practice - 1 hour - Preparation of presentation of findings to other groups and consultants - 1 hour
