Course content
Seminars Microbiology unit: - Agents of infectious diseases and their characteristics, pathogenicity and virulence, toxins, microbiological examination methods and collection of biological material - 2 hours. Immunology unit: - Basic concepts of immunology, function of the immune system, specific and non-specific immune response, human microbiome. Active and passive immunization, immunopathological reactions - 2 hours. General epidemiology unit: - The process of spreading the disease and the factors that affect it, the course of the infection and infectious disease, anti-epidemic measures and measures in the outbreak, vaccination - 2 hours. Special epidemiology unit: - Viral hepatitis A, B, C, E, AIDS - 2 hours. - Airborne infections - 1 hour. - Tick-borne infections - 1 hour. - Early infections - 1 hour. - Diarrheal diseases - 2 hours. - Other infections - toxoplasmosis, scaibies - 1 hour. - Introduction to travel medicine, risks of introducing diseases from abroad - 1 hour. - Hygiene of medical facilities - 1 hour. - Nosocomial infections, epidemiological characteristics, their economic and health significance - 1 hour. - MRSA and clostridium difficile - 1 hour. - Hygiene of medical facilities, disinfection and sterilization and sterilization of thermolabile materials - 2 hours. - Occupational infections in healthcare professionals - 1 hour.
