Course content
Lectures General pathology: - Cellular pathology (basic general structural and functional changes caused by external or internal factors) - 2 hours. - Basics of oncology (general principles and biological properties of tumours and introduction of the most common tumours) - 2 hours. - Special pathology (etiology and pathogenesis of diseases with emphasis on certain specific conditions and diseases) - 6 hours. Seminars Special pathology (etiology and pathogenesis of diseases with emphasis on some specific conditions and diseases): - Cardiovascular system (particularly atherosclerosis, hypertension, ischemic heart disease) - 2 hours. - Respiratory system (particularly COPD and pneumoconiosis) - 1 hour. - Gastrointestinal system - 1 hour. - Urogenital system (particularly STD, lithiasis and urinary tract infections) - 1 hour. - Metabolic diseases (particularly diabetes mellitus and metabolic syndrome) - 1 hour. - Neuromuscular system - 1 hour. - Endocrine glands - 1 hour. - Basics of immune reactions and their pathological abnormalities, infectious diseases - 1 hour. - Skin system (basic types of skin lesions) - 1 hour.
