Course content
|
Seminars - Defining DUPV and oxygen therapy. - Indications and prerequisites of the patient and family members (caregivers) for DUPV and oxygen therapy. - Preparing the patient for DUPV and oxygen therapy in a hospital environment, legislative, procedural, material support and provision of DUPV and oxygen therapy. - Social investigation in the home environment of DUPV and oxygen therapy, modification and equipment of the home environment to provide DUPV and oxygen therapy. - Basic operation of the ventilator, ventilation modes, settings of the ventilator and oxygenators. - Summary of nursing actions necessary for safe DUPV: care of the tracheostomy cannula, care of the airways, basic monitoring, care of the oral cavity, care of nutrition and emptying in a patient with DUPV, prevention of immobilization syndrome in the modification of the home environment. - Education of caregivers on basic nursing tasks of DUPV and oxygen therapy, education of caregivers on early recognition of complications, especially airway obstruction and performance of urgent nursing tasks associated with DUPV and oxygen therapy, education of caregivers on early recognition of serious complications, early activation of EMS. Focus on the clinical practice workplace: - Basic ventilator operation, orientation of ventilation modes and ventilator parameters. - Suctioning of the airways, care of tracheostomy, alternatives to securing the airway. - Procedure for acute replacement of the tracheostomy cannula.
