Course content
Seminars - Mental hygiene, its basic definition and principles. - Nurse in home and hospice care. Nurse personality - respect for life and dying. Sources of stress in palliative care. My role in palliative care. - Stress. Stress management strategies. - Frustration and reactions to frustration. - Burn-out syndrome. Prevention of loss of enthusiasm. - Protective factors in relation to burnout syndrome - behaviour, time-management, internal locus of control, "flow", "well-being", "self-efficacy", ego competence, conflict resolution and TA, etc. - Healthy lifestyle - diet, sleep, physical activity. - Family resilience. Stress management strategies in the family. Parent personality, parenting. - Attitudes and values in human life. Meaningfulness of life, positive thinking. Life satisfaction. Social support - nurses, at the workplace, with the patient. - The role of the employer in the prevention of stress and burn-out syndrome. Care for the team providing palliative care - supervision, professional care, etc. - Self-experience exercises. - Relaxation methods. Training. - Creation of the student's portfolio "Psychohygiene of a nurse", which will contain: the student will prepare a collage on the topic "Little things that support my personal resilience"; short essays - self-reflection, e.g. on the topic: "Vulnerability (vulnerability) in the nursing profession", "Sources of resilience of my family", "Strategy for coping with stress (mine, in the nursing profession)", "Personality of parents", "My social support" etc.; team cooperation: 1. "Creating a preventive program for nurses". 2. "Creating an educational leaflet for patients".
