Course content
|
Lecture - Anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system. Pathophysiology, classification of lymphedema, division according to etiology. Phlebolymphedema, lipolymphedema, lipedema. - Basic and additional examination of lymphedema, diagnostic methods in lymphology, lymphoscintigraphy. - Primary lymphedema and angiodysplasia, secondary lymphedema and its most common causes and manifestations. Treatment of secondary lymphedema in oncological diseases. - Treatment of lymphedema: comprehensive decongestive therapy; surgical treatment of lymphedema; taping; skin care in patients with lymphedema; supporting role of pharmacotherapy in the treatment of lymphedema. - Chronic wounds and the importance of the lymphatic system in their healing; complications of lymphedema and their treatment. Exercise - Measurements in lymphology. - Comprehensive decongestive therapy. - Compression therapy in the treatment of lymphedema. - Manual lymphatic drainage. - Instrumental lymphatic drainage. - Case reports.
