Course content
|
Lectures - Life-threatening conditions: unconsciousness, circulatory and respiratory arrest, shock and shock states. - Selected acute complicating situations: convulsions, dyspnea, severe anxiety states, delirium. - The most common intoxications in the home environment: intoxication with alcohol, drugs (sedatives, antidepressants, neuroleptics, etc.), mushroom intoxication, smoke intoxication, intoxication with chemicals. - Acute conditions in home oncological palliative care (e.g. tumor lysis syndrome, malignant intestinal obstruction syndrome, TEN, bleeding manifestations, inferior vena cava syndrome, intracranial hypertension, etc.). Seminars - Issues of euthanasia, DNR, advance wishes, categorization of treatment procedures in home, palliative and hospice care with regard to the choice of acute interventions. - Acute conditions in cardiology (acute coronary syndrome, acute heart failure, pulmonary embolism). - Acute conditions of the respiratory system (bronchial asthma, acute exacerbation of COPD. - Stroke in the home environment, early diagnosis and provision of care. - Acute conditions in diabetes mellitus. - Acute conditions associated with home artificial pulmonary ventilation and oxygen therapy. - The most common injuries in the home environment: wound treatment, fractures, head and spine injuries, burns (chemical, thermal). Exercises - Algorithm of basic and advanced resuscitation in adults, resuscitation of children, practical recapitulation according to current guidelines. - Sources of serious bleeding in home and palliative care (bleeding from the GIT, bleeding from the respiratory tract, bleeding in the neck, etc.), options for stopping bleeding in the home environment. - Monitoring and evaluation of parameters of basic vital functions, practical provision, interpretation of results and keeping a record of emergency situations. - Monitoring and evaluation of parameters of the internal environment, consequences of dehydration and the speed of symptoms of metabolic derangement. - Prevention, transmission and early detection of symptoms of serious infections that may be life-threatening in the home environment (urosepsis, pneumonia, symptoms of multi-organ failure).
