Course content

Lectures - Pharmacotherapy of diseases of the central nervous system (including dementia, depression, Alzheimer's disease). - Pharmacotherapy of the cardiovascular system - hypertension. - Pharmacotherapy of the cardiovascular system - antiarrhythmics, ischemic heart disease, thromboembolic disease. - Drugs affecting the blood and blood-forming organs (anticoagulants, antithrombotics, venopharmaceuticals). - Pharmacotherapy of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (antacids, antiulcer, antiemetics, laxatives, antidiarrheals). - Drugs affecting the urogenital system. - Pharmacotherapy of bronchial asthma and COPD. - Pharmacotherapy of diseases of the upper respiratory tract. - Pharmacotherapy of metabolic and endocrinological diseases (diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders). - Drugs affecting the musculoskeletal system - muscle relaxants, anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic therapy. Seminars - Specifics of pharmacotherapy in CNS diseases - adverse effects, interactions and influence of therapy by other substances. - Specifics of pharmacotherapy in hypertension - adverse effects, interactions and influence of therapy by other substances. - Specifics of pharmacotherapy in IHD, TEN - adverse effects, interactions and influence of therapy by other substances. - Specifics of pharmacotherapy of GIT - adverse effects, interactions and influence of therapy by other substances. - Specifics of pharmacotherapy of bronchial asthma and COPD - adverse effects, interactions and influence of therapy by other substances. - Specifics of pharmacotherapy of upper respiratory tract diseases - adverse effects, interactions and influence of therapy by other substances. - Specifics of pharmacotherapy of diabetes mellitus type I and II. - Specifics of pharmacotherapy in the treatment of pain with NSAIDs - adverse effects, interactions and influence of therapy by other substances. - Specifics of pharmacotherapy in the treatment of pain with opioid analgesics - adverse effects, interactions and influence of therapy by other substances. Exercise - Practical use of information sources and databases about drugs - searching for interactions, dosage, etc. Examples of risk assessment in specific patients and their appropriate interpretation in selected diseases and age categories (children, adults, geriatric patients): central nervous system, cardiovascular system, blood and hematopoietic organs, gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract.
