Course content
Seminars - Anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the male urogenital system. - Examination methods and diagnosis of pathological conditions of the male urogenital system. - Indications for male urinary bladder catheterization. - Conditions requiring intermittent catheterization. - Contraindications for male urinary bladder catheterization. - Complications during and after catheterization, complications of permanent urinary catheter insertion, including their treatment. - Epicystostomy, indications, specifics of nursing care, replacement procedure. - Symptoms of urinary tract infection and urosepsis. - Psychological approach to patients with permanent urinary catheters. - Anti-epidemiological regime, measures to reduce the risk of urinary tract infection, education, prevention, documentation. Exercises - Aids for bladder catheterization in men (intermittent, permanent catheterization). - Practical training in bladder catheterization in men - intermittent catheterization. - Practical training in urinary catheterization in men - permanent catheterization. - Anti-epidemiological regime, measures to reduce the risk of urinary tract infection - education, prevention, documentation. - Specifics of nursing care for patients with epicystostomy. - Epicystostomy replacement procedure. Internship - Mandatory internship at selected workplaces approved by the course guarantor (24 hours).
