Course content
Lectures - Evidence-based practice - Evidence Based Practice (EBP) - definition, basic characteristics, EBP steps, critical thinking, practical argumentation. - Formulation of a clinical question in PICO(T) format - PICOT model for clinical questions, types of clinical questions, examples. - Search strategy - searching for the best published evidence, converting a clinical question into a search strategy, recommendations for directed search strategies. - Working with selected electronic databases - searching in Czech and foreign databases. - Critical evaluation of the quality of the evidence found according to the protocol. Hierarchy of evidence for evaluating studies. - Critical evaluation of quantitative studies. Primary and secondary studies. - Clinical recommended practices - types, sources, institutions, databases. - KDP search, evaluation - AGREE, adaptation - ADAPTE. Seminars - Formulation of a clinical question in PICO(T) format - types of clinical questions, examples. - Search strategy - search for the best published evidence, translation of clinical questions into search strategies, recommendations for guided search strategies. - Work with selected electronic databases - search in Czech databases. - Work with selected electronic databases - search in foreign databases. - Critical assessment of the quality of the evidence found according to the protocol in practice. - Search for KDP, assessment - AGREE, adaptation - ADAPTE. - Application of evidence in clinical practice. Integration of evidence, clinical experience, values and patient preferences. - Evaluation of applied interventions and proposals. - Presentation of student projects.
