Course content
Protection and Support of Public Health - Health policy and health promotion, health 21. - The most frequently occurring diseases and the possibilities of their prevention. Preventive examinations, screening, dispensation. Vaccination. - Nutrition as a risk factor for civilization diseases. - Smoking, risks and possible treatment of smoking. - Cardiovascular diseases and their prevention. - Obesity and its risks, possibilities of obesity prevention. - Tumours and their relationship to lifestyle. - Breast cancer and its prevention. - Intestinal cancer and possibilities of prevention. General and special epidemiology - The originators of infectious diseases and their basic characteristics. - The process of spreading the disease and the factors that influence it. - Active and passive immunization. - Blood-borne diseases (viral hepatitis, AIDS). - Diarrheal diseases (salmonellosis, campylobacteriosis, bacillary dysentery). - Airborne infections (influenza and ARI, meningococcal infections, TB). - Scabies. Hygiene of health care facilities - The process of the spread of the disease and the factors that influence it, the course of the disease and the infectious disease, anti-epidemic measures and measures in the focus of the disease. - Nosocomial infections, epidemiological characteristics, their economic and health significance. - Basics of the hygienic-epidemiological regime of work in health care and social facilities.
