Course content
- Introduction to the course: objectives of teaching English for academic purposes. - Personal language history. - Autonomous foreign language learning. - Work with English information sources and dictionaries. - Work with foreign language text. - Extracting meaning. Text editing. - Development of a personal academic lexicon. - Academic essay writing (explanatory and comparative essay). Style, register, idiolect. - Listening text processing: listening comprehension, listening for specific purposes, etc. - Work with descriptive academic text. - Definition. - Summary. - Work with visual information material. - Development of presentation skills
