Course content
- Definition of key concepts: health, health promotion, health education in the kindergarten setting. - Determinants of health and lifestyle: a bio-psycho-social-cultural and spiritual perspective on health. - Barriers to a healthy lifestyle among preschool children, families and teachers. - Prevention and its levels: primary, secondary and tertiary prevention; protective and risk factors. - Health education activities in kindergartens: designing, implementing and reflecting on educational activities (micro-teaching). - The importance of physical activity for children's health and kindergarten daily routines as a tool for building healthy habits. - Mental hygiene, stress management and burnout prevention in kindergarten teachers; sources of inner support (meaning, values, rituals). - Principles of healthy nutrition and hydration; communication without moralising or stigmatisation. - Hygiene and illness in children's groups; routine measures; communication with parents/legal guardians and professional boundaries of the teacher. - Safety and injury prevention; prevention culture and risk management in the kindergarten environment. - Emotions and children's mental health; protective factors (safety, belonging, stability). - The role of family and prosocial relationships in health; health promotion as cooperation between kindergarten and family.
