Course content
Types of theses. Characteristics of thesis - its focus and scope. Selecting a theme. Types of bachelor thesis. Communication with the supervisor. Schedule. Information preparation : bibliography, annotated bibliography., Catalog, database searches, keywords. Information sources. Library, electronic database. Searching in sources. Working with literature: referencing, citations, secondary citations, paraphrasing. Plagiarism. Rules of drawing up a list of bibliographical references. The structure of the thesis. Composing text. Outline of chapters, chapters composition, sequence of sentences (current sentence structure). Chased text. Terminology question: concept, term. Definitions, synonyms conceptual as undesirable element. Scientific style. Scientific plural, frequent use of liabilities, nominalization, shortcuts. Formal aspects of work. Graphics: highlighting, tabs, tables, graphs, illustrations, appendices. The defense of the thesis.
