Course content
- Foreign language education and initial foreign language acquisition basic concepts and relations between them. - Objectives, contents and a system of foreign language education in primary education in the CR and abroad. - Requirements for an English language teacher personality in primary education. - Characteristics and needs of younger primary pupils influencing progress and results of teaching English in lower primary schools. - Planning and organization of English language teaching in primary education. - Teaching methods and procedures suitable for English language teaching in primary education. - Material support of English language teaching in primary education. - Choice and evaluation of textbooks. - Information and modern communication technologies in English language teaching in primary education. - Pedagogical communication within English language lessons in primary education. - Pedagogical portfolio and its evaluation.

A student gets knowledge of the latest results of scientific cognition in the field of foreign language education of lower primary pupils. A student is able to define goals and contents of English language teaching in primary education in accordance with didactic and psychological principles of so-called initial foreign language education.
