- Defining the aim, designing a schedule. Topic of the thesis. Overview of the thesis University requirements. - Literature review library research, sources from the supervisor. Critical reading skimming, scanning, comparing information. - Note taking, documenting sources. - Quotations. Plagiarism. - Organising material for literature review. - Outlining the study. First draft of literature review. Peer response. - Introduction (general to specific, concrete to abstract, scope and purpose of the thesis). - Goals/objectives of the thesis; working hypothesis/es - Experimental section (materials, methods, results) - Discussion of the results language features (causes and consequences, data commentary) - Conclusion level of generalizations, limitations. - Abstract/resume writing. Acknowledgement(s), authors statement. - Formal features of diploma theses. - Course evaluation.
