Course content
Basic class-work materials are selected from authentic English texts, presentations and vocational books which are used for preparing art designers in English language. Contents in thematic areas: - Elements and principles of design - Materials, patterns and coloours - Shapes and forms - Work process in art design - Professions and work of selected designers - Art competitions in the Czech Republic and abroad

Dialogic (Discussion, conversation, brainstorming), Methods for working with texts (Textbook, book), Practice exercises, Individual work of students, Students working in pairs
  • Home preparation for classes - 14 hours per semester
  • Participation in classes - 26 hours per semester

After the course students have English language knowledge minimum at B1+ level or higher in: - Lexis for expressing general principles in creative design process - Lexis for talking about their work on creative projects - Lexis for expressing themselves within their art studio specialisation - Usage of English syntax - Usage of sentence punctuation and sentence linking words
