Course content

- Entrance test, language level identification; recommendation of self-study materials for possible levelling - Understanding and presentation of information, writing notes from lectures - General, academic and technical vocabulary; groups of words - Presentations, their structure; communicating personal experience, use of tenses - Reading - types, topic, purpose, main idea; predicting the content of the text - Sentence - structure, types; paragraph and its features - Written and spoken discussion, expressing attitudes, critical evaluation - Definitions and explanations - differences in written and spoken form - Reading and understanding authentic materials (written and spoken) - Presentation at a selected professional topic - evaluation by colleagues and the teacher. Besides academic language, also general language is developed, including grammar.
