Course content
The subject is aimed at acquiring knowledge about the following topics: - The importance of reading, reading - an active process, activating background knowledge, text mapping strategies, extensive and intensive reading, reading for information. - Skimming for general overview, surveying the text. - Scanning for specific points of information. - Intensive reading - work with language (vocabulary activities, grammar analysis, sentence structures). - Information transfer (completing diagrams, filing tables, gap-filling). - Summarizing information and reporting back. - Skills to participate in seminars and lectures (listening, note taking, etc.). - Role plays, scenarios, simulations from the area of technology. - Oral presentations in technology - audience analysis, content, structure, language means, body language, visuals.
