Course content
- Defining the concept and principles of medical law. Basic sources of medical law. Organization and the health system in the country. State and private medical facilities. The World Health Organization and its mission. Workers in health care - 2 hours - Client's consent to the provision of health care. The provision of health care without the consent and against the will of the client / negotiations in distress /, forced and compulsory treatment - 1 hour - Failure to provide assistance as criminal conduct - 1 hour - Abortion. Criminal abortion - 1 hour - Transplantation Law. Transplants from living and dead donors. The issue of brain death - 1 hour - Significance death. Inspection of the dead. Medical and forensic autopsy - 1 hour - Protection of unborn life in Czech law - 1 hour - Liability for damage in providing health care - 1 hour - The concept and the protection of public health. The Law on the protection of public health - 1 hour - Health insurance. Act on public health insurance. Sickness insurance. The Law on Health Insurance - 1 hour - Labour protection of pregnant women - protective time constraints prohibit the dismissal, business trips, working hours, overtime, night work and special working conditions of pregnant women, breastfeeding women and men to end nine months after birth. The issue of discrimination against pregnant women - 1 hour - Legal aspects of childbirth. Legal protection of personal rights. Procedure for baby, child and maternal deaths. Legal aspects of assisted reproduction. Legal protection of unborn life outside the mother's body - 2 hour - Crimes of pregnant women. The murder of the mother of the newborn, child abandonment. Pregnant woman in prison - 2 hours

Students will acquire the basic awareness of the legal aspects of the medical law. Students will be able to understand and interpret legal regulations of the Czech medical law and use them in practice. They will be fully qualified to deal with basic legal problems when providing basic medical care.
