The course builds on the knowledge of the subjects of the Bachelor's study, in particular on the courses focusing on the theory of law, constitutional law, administrative law and territorial government and self-government.

Students will acquire a comprehensive overview of the most important concepts in the field of state science and public administration. The student is able to orientate in the system of public power in the state and is able to explain the activities of state authorities. The student can describe basic milestones of public administration in the Czech territory.

Students are familiar with the principles, position and function of public authorities as one of the tools of executive power in the state. They can explain the basic relationships between the state administration and local self-government and a brief explanation about how it affects the public and private sectors.
