Course content
- Basic economic theories I - Basic economic theories II - The concept of the region in regional development theories, meaning and breakdown of regional development theories - Location theory I: von Thünen - agricultural activities - Location theory II: industrial activities - Location theory III: city - Central places theory - The concept of imperfect competition - Isard's regional science and other liberal and neo-classical approaches - The new economic geography and new growth theory - The Core-periphery theories - Structural approaches - Critical realism, institutionalism and behavioural approaches - Workshop with expert practitioner This course has been innovated within the project Innovation of Teaching of Regional Development (CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0012).
