Course content
Introduction to regional analysis - terminology, underpinnings, applied research Datasets in regional analysis - data sources, typology, methods of data gathering and cleaning Quantitative methods of data analysis in regional analysis with focus on graphical outputs Methods of basic data analysis - use of descriptive analysis in regional analysis Identification of research questions/problems and hypotheses with statistical testing Methods to evaluate dependance of variables in regional analysis Multicriterial methods for decision making in terms of smart governance Modelling spatial interactions - gravitational models in regional analysis Modelling spatial interactions - models of spatial diffusion Evaluation of economic stimulus in seleted areas - regional input-output models Practical exampls of regional analysis in relation to investment, strategic planning and other aspects relavant for regional development within current programming period 2014-2020
