learning outcomes
Knowledge
This course deals with the importance of ethics and is devoted to the understanding of the role the ethics plays for the organization, and to the most commonly encountered ethical dilemmas in the life of managers. The aim is to provide students with the knowledge that will help them make the right ethical decisions in managerial work. After the completion of the course, students should be able to understand the essence and significance of the managers´ ethical attitude in the frame of their decision processes and for shaping the ethical behavior of the organization. The course provides students with knowledge of different strategies, methods, tools, and practices for managing organizational ethics. Students will be able to understand and evaluate various internal and external factors that influence and affect the ethical decisions of managers and of the stakeholders. Topics such as consumer society, corporate goodwill, image, brand, corporate culture, sustainable development, manager's and social responsibility, fair trade, etc. will be discussed to make students comprehend different dimensions and interlinkages between the organizational life and ethical decision making. After the completion of the course, students will be able to identify ethical dilemmas of managers, employees (and other stakeholders), and to demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge of managerial ethics to the organizational practices.
