1. Introduction, rules and motivation - a definition of the term 'Soft Computing' and its key role in solving complex, non-linear and imprecisely defined problems in automatic control and robotics. Common terms from the field of AI. 2. Uninformed state space search - basic algorithmic procedures (such as BFS or DFS) for systematically traversing the state space without using additional knowledge about the goal. 3. Informed search, mobile robots - the use of heuristic functions and the A* algorithm (and its variants) for the efficient planning of optimal trajectories for mobile robots in environments with obstacles. 4. Evolutionary algorithms - fundamentals - principles of biologically inspired optimisation using genetic algorithms, including the representation of individuals, selection mechanisms, crossover and mutation. 5. Evolutionary algorithms - advanced, surrogate models - advanced optimisation techniques (differential evolution, multi-criteria optimisation) and surrogate models for accelerating computationally intensive simulations. 6. Fuzzy systems and fuzzy controllers - design of fuzzy logic and fuzzy inference systems (Mamdani, Takagi-Sugeno) for the control of non-linear processes without the need for an exact mathematical model. 7. Unsupervised learning - k-means, DBSCAN, hierarchical algorithms - unsupervised learning algorithms for detecting hidden structures in data, identifying operational states and recognising anomalies based on clustering. 8. Classifiers - instance-based and probabilistic classifiers - supervised learning methods (k-NN, Naive Bayes, decision trees) designed, for example, for the accurate diagnosis of faults and the classification of the operational states of industrial equipment. 9. Classifiers - linear separability, SVM, metrics and model evaluation - the concept of geometric data separation using Support Vector Machines (SVM) and an introduction to metrics (Confusion Matrix, ROC-AUC) for the reliable evaluation of the performance of ML models. 10. Neural networks - perceptron, Adaline, MLP - the fundamentals of connectionism, ranging from the simplest linear neurons to multi-layer perceptrons capable of approximating any non-linear function. 11. Neural networks - backpropagation, deep neural networks, recurrent neural networks - a detailed explanation of training networks using backpropagation and an introduction to recurrent neural networks (LSTM/GRU) as tools for modelling dynamic systems with internal states. 12. Neural networks - convolutional neural networks and well-known models - processing of image and one-dimensional sensory signals using convolutional networks for the purposes of visual feedback in robotics or quality control. 13. Neural networks - generative AI, transformers - architectures based on the attention mechanism (Transformers) and selected generative models that can be used, for example, to generate synthetic data for simulation modelling. 14. Reinforcement learning - the principles of agent learning through trial and error within Markov decision processes (Q-learning, DRL) as a modern alternative to autonomous and adaptive control.
