Course content
|
The course is planned in the scope of 7 hours/semester with the following content: In the theoretical part, the principles of providing first aid, legislation, calling the ambulance, basic resuscitation, diagnosis of circulatory and respiratory arrest, assessment of impaired consciousness, rules of performing indirect cardiac massage, including control of AED, artificial respiration, diagnosis and therapy of arterial bleeding, transport and positioning of the injured. A special section discusses the application of first aid in specific cases - myocardial infarction, stroke, burns, frostbite, electrocution, fractures, shock conditions, diabetes mellitus and epilepsy. In the practical part of the course, students will learn how to assess the circulation, breathing and state of consciousness of a casualty, practical performance of indirect cardiac massage and artificial respiration on manikins, operation of external defibrillators and dressing technique. Credit week, remedial written work.
